Welcome to the start of this project called "dora", she started of as just a basic 306 hdi with all its bits in.... untill i got hold of it,
so to begin let me tell you how i got the name dora well it started off with a good girl mate of mine she always named all her cars and she said i needed a name for mine.... i said its a car it doesn't have a name well she forced me to have a name and i said ok dora.... and she said why dora i said because its "dora the explorer she gos everywhere with me".. and that was the start of it all ever since its been the name dora.
so first few mods this was going back a few years so i dont have many pictures of her before i sort of done mods with out pictures and project threads become what they was after i started getting in to it a bit more heavy.
so first mod was i got her windows tinted slight mod but well worth it in my eyes and made a fair bit of diffrence this was when i first got her, also i got a full stainless steel exhaust with decat, and a k&n induction kit (no pics of that apart from you see the tip of the exhaust.)

So as we moved on i went on to her a bit further thinking about what i could do i was not to fond of the cyclones at first so i changed to a new set of alloys, they are only 17" ripspeed ones so yes from halfords but i was young, i also painted the rear spoiler and the side trims for the fuel filler cap so they are color coded, later pictures will show this but first the wheels.
![[Image: 2.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/2.jpg)
Next step was getting her dropped! she needed to be lowerd so i sat her low on a set off spax rsx coilovers, dropped to 60 on the rear and about 50mm on the front, also notice the color coded fuel filler cap (both sides) and the spoiler now all color coded.
![[Image: 3.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/3.jpg)
So not long after this i drive that for a while i had to change the tyres and opps, with that drop i found out the 17"s are to big and when i put some new tyres on, i found the tyre walls on the inside got destroyed, i noticed coming off the forcourt the garage said its not there fault i said you put them on you should have known it wasent safe instead of just gunning them on... they should have put my old tyres back on but they said not my faut and sent me on my way, so lucky it was only round corner from my house got home took the alloys stright back off and the old wheels "cyclones" went back on as this was now becoming dangarous.
![[Image: 4.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/4.jpg)
so while im playing about i started getting bits for my Front mount intercooler and all the pipework and bits i need for it heres the pics of the parts, first the intercooler its self,
* Bar and Plate Intercooler Corn size: 550mm x 175mm x 64mm, Overall length: 690mm
* 2.25" (57mm) Inlet and Outlet
* Maximum Pressure: 45psi
* Max Horsepower Capacity : 450hp
![[Image: 5.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/5.jpg)
secand bit the 406 hdi inlet manifold.. ok there is 2 of these this one (i have) and another one, i found i got the wrong one, but i adapted it and it ended up working to my advantage at a later date pictures to come of what i done, but just so your aware there are 2 types of 406 hdi inlets.
![[Image: 6.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/6.jpg)
Next up was the 2 slim line fans, these are basic ebay jobbys i really cant remember what ones they are but as i say just basic slimline fans.
![[Image: 7.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/7.jpg)
ok next up was pipe work i have bought all my piping from artel motorsport seen at http://www.artelmotorsport.co.uk they are a good bunch and there good quailty hoses i would rather pay the price once and know what im getting.
![[Image: 8.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/8.jpg)
so more bits and a new nessens rad came in, i say new it came off a mates 306 that got broken, so i nabbed myself a bargin and got this, its a lot deeper then standard to highly efficiant at cooling.
![[Image: 9.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/9.jpg)
in the process i managed to get hold of a new dump valve aswell some say it doesnt work on a diesel witch in a way thre right but.. it does depend on how much your boosting if you boost a high psi and take your foot of the throttle wheres all that boost going back to the turbo so its better to be released. but im not sure still yet hasent been put on as i might be going external waste gate route.
![[Image: 10.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/10.jpg)
so reading about found a set of full goodridge braided lines, ohh lots of goodies turning up at my door
![[Image: 11.jpg]](http://www.jt-ltd.co.uk/sitefiles/image/Dora/11.jpg)
so back to the 406 hdi inlet i said i had modified it, well this was the outcome, its the basic elbow with the egr blanked off and a 51mm pipe welded to the end off it easy fitting for my piping then
so to begin let me tell you how i got the name dora well it started off with a good girl mate of mine she always named all her cars and she said i needed a name for mine.... i said its a car it doesn't have a name well she forced me to have a name and i said ok dora.... and she said why dora i said because its "dora the explorer she gos everywhere with me".. and that was the start of it all ever since its been the name dora.
