Ah turbo swap? its how i would do it...

Turbo on it is fine as it is

only having one issue if anyone can help on removing the oil feed pipe to the turbo there was a plastic 'seal' on the end of this pipe now my issue is it has broken inside the pipe which i will get out by taking it off the turbo and using compressed air to get rid of it out the pipe but what is the purpose of it? as ive looked on servicebox but its saying it should be a banjo type pipe.



yet mine is like this with the piece in question



If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Good effort mate. How long did it take to get your engine out?

Took 5hours overall on my own in the lovely cold had to take the gearbox off aswell as the decat bolt had got rounded while trying to take it off so had pull the engine forward which wouldn't of been plausible if the gearbox was still attached. Took too long really but the weather was poor and had to keep running to the bottom of the garden to get tools out my shed



ALSO

Been thinking about doing the head gasket but not really going to be flush at the end of the month.
Situation is its not leaking that i can see externally, so i can only assume its fine for now but if i was to replace it then would i need to get the head skimmed?
I can get the gasket and bolts from ECP with staff discount but really dont have much money to get the head skimmed so toying with the idea of leaving it be as it seems fine and i can do the job inside the car if needed but it would be far easier doing it now.
