Flocking looks great in real life. It's purpose is to absorb light and prevent refections (like the sun bouncing off the dashboard on a WRC rally stage - not good!) photographing it is quite hard as a result.
I must admit I do like the smoothed look on some cars, I think it suits moonstone quite well, but the badge does look good aswell, especially on darker colours so you get the contrast with the chrome.
