Also, remember when you adjust the wastegate arm, you can inadvertently set the wastegate itself so that it either won't open all the way or won't close all the way. That's why I would always say, leave it set stock and adjust the controller to "hide" the signal from the actuator.

Until the exhaust pressure builds up enough that it'll blow the wastegate open, so requires more preload...
