Gloves, f*cking Gloves! There's only 1 thing gloves should be worn for and that's by the bitch washing the pots!
We have Grips gloves at work which are rubber with fabric backs. I don't use them so can't comment but they look ok quite thick but I would guess if you are using them around water they will get wet. Maybe put some rubber gloves underneath. I find a coating of paint, oil or render keeps them warm
