Frosty, the brembo's make the brake pedal travel a bit further as there's more pistons to compress but they do work better than the gti brakes.
Mine has only shit pads and discs in at the minute and yes they are noisy! Apparently it's down to the resonance frequency of the disc as you have to use smaller 288mm xantia discs rather than the 305mm 406 ones. Proven way to cure this is to use tarox G88 discs but their £250 a set.... I'm not to sure about the whole frequency thing as one side squeals a lot more than the other so must be a reason... I'll look into it when I'm driving the 6 again in march.
