1. IIRC it was 50mm (i measured one for somebody on .net once but can't remember) but will check tonight.

but yeah 51mm internal for silicone will fit 51mm external metal stuff!
4. I would go for a cone or a performance filter in the standard box, I feel that a cone/induction kit jobbie would flow better though providing its big enough
