I've been there, it's crap, and women always seem to know when to drop the bombshell too..
I was working hard as a junior estimator and just got a promotion at work when - upon inviting her out that evening - my girlfriend of 6 years decided that we weren't 'working'. I wouldn't have minded if I saw it coming, but I was totally blind-sided.
Fortunately my current girlfriend has none of the irritating traits my ex had.
I still think about it sometimes. How I wasn't invited to her works party. How I gave her a lift there anyway, cos I'm nice like that (maybe too trustworthy).
It's cos she was having a fling with one of her work colleagues!
They're still together. But the twats haven't got a pot to piss in and still live with their parents, with part-time jobs at a local supermarket.
Onwards and upwards, like!
