Been after one for ages and happened upon this for such a bargain price with 12 months MOT and a 200TDi conversion that i couldn't afford to turn it down! ![[Image: IMG_5731_zps1dxtzylo.jpg]](http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r143/matt-taylor/IMG_5731_zps1dxtzylo.jpg) ![[Image: IMG_5732_zpspch5bxx9.jpg]](http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r143/matt-taylor/IMG_5732_zpspch5bxx9.jpg) ![[Image: IMG_5733_zpsze9kjfim.jpg]](http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r143/matt-taylor/IMG_5733_zpsze9kjfim.jpg)
Amazingly its actually solid! and a 3 door suits my needs   over the moon with how it drives, just need to sort the brakes, diff lock and sagging suspension (it was originally a 2.0L petrol MPi and i believe its still on the MPi springs up front!)

Love a Disco, make for a good cheap greenlaner!
Landies are a terrible habit; I've got 2, old man has one, had a couple previous (one that I did a resto of a few years ago).

How much did you pick it up for?

I bought it from one of my best chums who did me a rather good deal on it admittedly but he replaced it with another one for the exact same money so they are definitely out there!

Best places to look is outside the regular ebay & autotrader routes and try the lesser pages like gumtree and you may stumble on a bargain

there's lots of cheap discos about, I think I'd prefer one to a Defender tbh, mechanically so similar, identical in some respects, but you don't smash your elbow on the door trying to steer!
trickier to repair as all the panels have curves instead of just sheet steel defenders :p

I have never seen a TD5 sell for under a grand. People are still asking £600 for discos like mine being advertised as 'spares or repairs'

It doesn't have a 'one life, live it' sticker, that drops half the normal landy buyers out of the market and makes it cheaper.

Custom roll cages/shiny suspension bits/general fabrication work undertaken, PM me.Top engine mount repair/reinforcement/chocking for cracked chassis and high powered cars, drive in, drive out, 2 hour turnaround.

Well i had a productive weekend on the 'rover!

replaced rad pipe that was weeping, sorted out some electrical gremlins and wired me a nice big lamp on the back which i spliced into the rear fog to have on an oem switch on the dash
Also found (now need to save for)

Front HD winch bumper
Snorkel
265 insa turbos (will require arch cutting though)
get the lift kit fitted

She should be a decent enough laning machine then
