So. Soon I shall have my own workshop. It will be rented. Cant afford to buy. Ive been wanting one for years. Somewhere to play with toys and local to me. Apart from the mini which takes priority one of my many things to do with cars that I've always wanted to do.......an endurance race. So for some reason I have stuck in my head a 205 stage2 hdi. Open to other suggestions this is just a chat at this time. Not an actual im going to do it.

On a break from 306oc for personal reasons. If anyone needs or wants me most of you have my number and or facebook messengerThanks for the good times guys n gals. I might be back. Who knows.

How about doing a DV6 205? It's an engine I'd like to do some development on, turbo conversions and mapping etc.. It'd help with keeping weight down, especially over the front end, and they seem to tune quite well.

Fair enough. Another option. I know my way round those as well really well due to work. We shall see. Didn't hdi tuning get 200bhp from one??

Mapping isn't cheap with the DV6, be better off sticking with something EDC15 imo, cheaper and easier to map.

Mapping wasn't cheap for the DW10 once upon a time. It's called development

True...so wait for the development lol.
The map file is 4 times as big on the DV6 so it'll never get as cheap as EDC15 mapping I don't think. Really complicated as well...I couldn't even find the damn EGR maps in mine.

i could just learn to map it myself. i mean why not. it would be hard and nowhere near as good as a proper mappers. but then again i wouldve done it

Yeah if you're planning to do that then fair enough, just depends whether you'd rather do the physical stuff and leave the mapping to a pro or get stuck in with the mapping as well I guess. 'Proper' mappers were all novices at one point as well obviously.

Oi, enough of that, go get your own ideas.
Go for it Bash, be good to have another option for a decent mapper about.

Well we will see what happens in the coming months. Whatever happens will be slow progress due to the mini having to be done as a priority. I'll start looking for some description of car once im sure I've got the workshop. Im just waiting on a call. He has two or three so I should be able to get one.

I am very tempted by this idea. Even a furio would do for a hack. Then all id have to do is buy tyres and brakes and repairs. Which in all fairness is a mega cheap track day car. Really should get on with trailer licence.
