Which turbo do i have...?

Hi all

Got a P reg ph1 D turbo running a lucas pump, am I right in thinking it will have a k14 turbo? and the t2 turbo's come with bosch pump'd engines?

Also is 20psi max boost on a k14?

I have a k14 on my P reg ph1 D turbo (which is no longer) running a lucas pump, if that helps.

but the only way to know for sure is to take a look

Iv had a T2 on a lucas on a 99 phase 2 and a k14 on a lucas on a 98 phase 2, best get under and have a look

I have has a look underneath but couldn't see any tags or markings? whats the easiest way of telling?

My K14 has been running 24-25psi (based on a cheap gauge admittedly) for about a year and a half now and so far absolutely no problems. Have a GT2056 waiting for when it fails! :-)

Darren Lobb has a video that explains about the different pumps and how to differentiate between the different turbos. Someone should be able to post a link.

Its a t2, how much boost can I run so it will last?

I was running my DT (Lucas and T2) at a peak of 21psi after tweaking the pump and the wastegate, never had a problem with it, but had a vast improvement over standard performance.

pretty sure i have one of the garretts but how can i tell which one couldnt see any stickers on it
