A few of you know that I've now got this and I figured some others may be interested to see something different. Currently running this alongside the 6 while the NAD is off the road and it's so nice to have something quiet and comfy for cruising to and from work but I think it needs a bit more Oomf behind it.
There isn't a huge amount of info out there about putting bigger turbos etc on these as it seems the bmw forums answer to more power is buy the car with more power standard, but that's not the way we do things.

Being the earlier 136bhp (M47) engine it should be running either a gt1752v or TF035 With vacuum vnt control rather than electronic which should mean a relatively simple upgrade process.

At the moment it's not running 100% due to a dodgy MAF but Bmw want £259.99 for a replacement    Used OE it is then, just waiting on payday before replacing that but in the meantime it's running better without the MAF at all. Once it is back to 100% then the fun can begin, this isn't going to be an all out power build. I've been told they are good for 180bhp with just a map so over 200 would be good but I want to keep the quick spool of the vnt so maybe a newer equivalent.

Plans are

Straight through exhaust to get rid of both cats (anyone want to make me one?    )
Boost gauge and maybe EGT, anything else worth adding?
Bigger FMIC
bigger turbo - not looked into what would be best suited yet maybe a gt2256v?

Need to look at the suspension probably get some coil overs
Want to get some different wheels on her maybe something a bit wider
Black leather interior
Msport front bumper and maybe complete facelift front
Facelift rear lights
OEM xenons

Will put some pictures up in a bit

Yes sam it's the early 320d, not exactly what I was after but seems to have turned out better after an in depth look
Connor afaik the 136 doesn't have the swirl flaps to start with so no issue there

a few bolt on turbo options I think for this from other bmw, 2256v could be a goer - need to see about having it remapped as it is though, should see 175+ I would have thought on standard turbo.
Not sure what the next weekest link on the engine is in terms of 200+ bhp, but would be worth investigating if you can find any info

Could always go for something from a later BM and convert it to vacuum rather than electronic control

Only info I found so far is about the 330d which 'apparently' good for 400bhp on standard internals but I'm looking to see what I can find

I'd imagine they are essentially 2/3rds of an M57, given that you'd guess at about 270 bhp from a stock motor IF the larger 6 can do 400.
there is a 201 bhp tt variant of the N47

I bought it like this, but the dealer didn't know was mapped lol

Try and get an m sport interior too mate, my car is a lovely place to be imo. So comfy

And this is lowered on standard m sport suspension with eibach springs

Ever need any diagnostics btw I've got INPA setup (dealer level diags).
Yeah E46Zone is probably one of the better ones tbh..

From what I can see, the flange looks the same from the 136 turbo to the 150 turbo (136 is a 1549v, 150 is a 1749v) and they both are actuated (assuming by vacuum).

150 turbo is good for at least 200hp on the newer lump

Not far from Bristol mate so probably a fair old way away (geography wasn't my best thing). But if you've got a laptop, you can get a cable with the software for sub £20 and I don't mind giving you some pointers on how to use it (it's partly in german)
