Xsi brakes (help required)

Hi

I was wondering if the s16 (93-96) brakes will fit my sxi (99)?

Or if not a good brake upgrade.

I think S16s are 266mm same as XSi's.

Other people will tell you GTi6 brakes (283mm) are a good upgrade, my opinion differs from theirs.

I don't see any problem with the standard 266's unless you're going on track every weekend. Decent pads in the 266s are no worse than the GTi6 brakes in my experience.

I found a set 4 discs and set of bads for the s16 for £162 delivered.
And they are 266mm front and 247mm rear.

I would say stick with the brakes on the xsi. With it being a 99 i would guess there the same as hdi brakes.

And they are 266mm front and 247mm rear.

All 306 rear discs are 247mm. And yep looks like S16s are definitely 266mm then, however there are different calipers, so obviously different shaped pads, you need to check which make/shape yours are. Either Bosch or Lucas.
