WANTED/NEEDED: 1.8 16v sump

So having a lowered car and living in the country ended badly today when I put a whole in my sump!
Now in need of a new one.


Got a 2000 1.8 16v petrol but think the 8v and gti ones also fit?

Anyone selling? Closer to east Midlands as possible or able to courier.

If I were you I'd get a steel sump as opposed to an Ali one, take a bit more abuse

I will be replacing my 1.8 sump with a gti6 one in a few months or so which doesnt help you im afraid. Im not sure the gti6 one is a straight swap as it has an extra bit which covers up a gap on the gti6 box where as the 1.8 has a plate there.

Same as the HDi sump? Think Ive gt a spare if so, would have to be posted though.

I kept it fully expecting mine to fail after literally dropping the engine on it, then scraping it around the concrete floor to slide the engine about the garage.... It's been fine after all that so I dunno how much abuse you guys give them to break them lol!

Found a motor parts shop selling for 70 quid Inc vat. Better than peugeots 340 pound quote. Might still ring around scrappies though

Not sure, they're all XU blocks (yes I know HDi is technically DW) so probably would fit. Only issue might be depth if they use different oil pumps.
