Found a few threads but none that really have my answer.
What sort of oil pressure should i be expecting? Im getting about 80psi on idle (cold) dropping to about 40 when the engines warm (although oil wasn't. Ive literally just run it up on the drive).
Also picks up with rpm. Ive heard a general rule is that you should get 10psi for every 1000 rpm but not sure how true this is?

did you take the relif spring out the pump and clean the spring and valve?
what colour was the spring?

I did and if I'm honest, I'm pretty sure it was just black but not 100%. Didn't pay too much attention.

but im sure spring colour denotes the relif pressure

the std 6 oil pump has a release pressure of 6bar that is the maximum you will see on the gauge
35-40psi at tickover on hot oil sounds about right but it should pick up the pressure quickly when reved
