Hi all. The wife is booked in for her test in march, likely to pass so now looking for her very own car (get her out of mine!) Looking for something small ish like 306 size, not as small as 106. Petty much any make / model. Prefer diesel or very frugal petrol.
Budgeting £400 for something with a couple months tax and test at least, and in reasonable mechanical condition. Any less and looking at £200 (potentially including no test depending on condition)
Not in major hurry but looking to get something my mid march.
Priorities are good mpg and low insurance. Beyond that she's not fussy.

"cheap car for the wife" . . . sounds like a fair swap, can she cook?

Haha fell into that one didn't I! She can if it's frozen and cooking instructions are "place in oven". I'm the master chef in our house. She does come with FSH though

Got a 1999 306 LX D. It has just passed the MoT. It needed new front discs and pads and a couple of wipers to pass.
I was going to advertise in the trader today for£595 but if you get back to me imediately I'll take £500.
Sorry I won't take less due to how much I've just spent.
