So after the dyno other day wanna get a rev gauge on my 106. Hopefully you guys can help me out abit.
Were Will it pick up the reading for the gauge? Will my car have the wireing there?

Its worth mentioning that my car uses a Speedo cable it's not electrical!

Any help or tips welcome

er, fit a 106 dial set that has a rev counter??
and before you shout your retort.. yes they do exist

and yes you can wire into alternator but you will need a lazer techy thing to calibrate it

I've been trying to research this, some are saying off alternator, some say of the flywheel/crank sensor it's doing my head in
Would have though some one would have had fitted a rev gauge and wrote about it on the net.

@piggy I will struggle to find clocks with a Speedo cable And rev gauge, but will look tho.

Yes they exist piggy but simply plugging one in doesn't make it work as that's what someone's done in mine lol

Yer but my membership has run out so i carnt view diy guides, not paying just for this lol,

on this thread
http://106owners.co.uk/forums/showthread...ev+counter
He says the orange plug, witch is the crank sensor (but its grey plug on mine ) Think im just gonna buy a gauge and wire it up then try it on that crank sensor see if it works or not

just get one that will work off the 'w' terminal of your alternator. best to check if it has an exposed 'w' terminal tho lol

Surely you just can buy an aftermarket one and just wire it to what ever sensor the 306 uses to pick up the rpms from?

Yeah you can wire it up to the alternator but why have a "poo" aftermarket rev counter when you can stay OEM!

Just a suitable 2inch one even tho it goes to 8,000rpm think a gov mod may be in order
