What cars have the same 5 speed box?
I have a Vts Xsara phase II, but also a phase II 306 Xsi.
Is the box the same, gearbox sensor etc

Nope, different gear ratios. It will fit of yours, but the ratios are different between the boxes

Ok, cheers, trying to decide if to strip down the 306 or sell as a whole.
Its had some gti-6 bits fitted, had on rolling road running 158bhp.
Just needs tailgate and bumper plus tailgate panel.

Why considering stripping down for spares and buying another 306 instead.
