		thats it really.
if you get a dturbo lump with all the manifolds etc, all should be well.

would be worth fitting a fmic while you at it though!

not if I recall, looms are same. I cant see what would be different with the loom.
you only need a couple of wires for a xud to run!

		Serious, no trolling..
I've never touched a phase 3. Nor have I touched a hdi. When I bought mine I was adverts for
 "Hdi non turbo".
I couldn't be bothered looking into it.
 They're the LX models?

phase 3 is dw8, which i think is semi ecu, conversion should be straight forward

Mark (mr_fish) is right, the ph3 nads are dw8 based IDI, most are fitted with semi ecu lucas injection (ecu controls egr, injection timing, and idle)

IMO I'd recommend doing a hdi swap not a XUD.You'll need the engine, engine loom, engine bay loom, ecu with imob items and preferably the dials too, to do the swap but thats it, probably take a extra 2 hours to change the bay loom but well worth it imo

Why would you need immobiliser stuff? Ruan went from a ph3 gti6 to a dt and that was straight forward enough so going ph3 nad to dt would surely be even easier

Im planning on it with my mates nad pretty soon, and I check it all out and it looks easy peasy.
xuds run on a few wires compared to the rats nest on a hdi

You'll always get mixed reviews with XUD/HDi engines; it's personal preference.

Personally, i prefer XUD's for the simplicity and lack of electrics, but people like Chris, prefer HDi's for the simplicity of "plug and play" tunability.

Xud engine and box all as one, get the pipework etc too..when I looked at my mates nad it looked like no changes to loom were needed.
while you there you have two options, change to FMIC or if sticking with TMIC then the bonnet soundproofing/TMIC vent will be needed too

 no dials to change etc
