The owner before has left some glue where they attached the previous strips. I didn't know this until it was too late so I need to fix that up.

I doubt youll get a clip in, the glue is more than likely standard. Strip it off and tiger seal the small bit back on.

I had exactly the same thing on my old gti some dinlo had gluded the far end of quater panel........... I mean really??? Glue + paint work.....
