So apart from bending over and just paying, are there any great people out there with good rates on 306s? Club discounts? I saw a member here had Adrian Flux in his avatar, worth a cheeky PM?
I'm in the position of having my license 9 years, but no current NCB as I've been living out of the UK so it's all lapsed currently looking at £500 on a HDI, not to bad, but I'm 29!

Sky insurance did me a deal that even Adrian flux couldn't match (even though they had promised to match any deal I found, lady gardens)

Area and job mate. Shottingham is still a shit hole and its not just number of cars stolen its number crashed into. I knocked £££ of my insurance when i moved. Find yourself a nice low risk job and you could save £££ too.

Hmmmm, that could be your problem mate. Without being too stereotypical: Mining towns (now the mines are closed) tend to have high levels of unemployment and with that comes higher crime rates, unemployed people are also a higher insurance risk (read worse drivers), there's higher proportions of uninsured drivers ETC

Yeah its possible. But strange if they came round here theyd change there price. Dont even see boy racers round here. And theres no younge drivers on road cos theyre all unemployed and cant afford a car.

£480 FC for the year, 4 NCB, no points or anything.
Obviously not a 306 for that price, a 150bhp 6 year old diesel heavy enough to take out an entire supermarket with a bit of understeer at a crucial moment.
So what's that about being unemployed being expensive?

Umm, no....infact I cant remember the last time I saw a sheep round here, you're thinking of Wales! Crops easily outnumber people though. Or pigs and cows.... And yes its not exactly a crime hotspot...well, ASBOs and S59s due to the sheer number of modded cars round here (I'm talking Evos and Scoobys, not many Saxos lol), but not actually burning/nicking cars like they might up North.
It's something to do with the Vec though, safer maybe? Less of them crashed? I dunno, but if I'd stuck with the HDi it woulda been another couple of hundred on top!
Also, being 'unemployed', I don't have to add commuting to my insurance, which takes about £20 off as well.
