Anyone know where this has ended up? I had it for over two years, sold it to Sam Barker, then he sold in on 6 months later. Interested to see how it ended up.
Pic in it's better days..

Yes it now belongs to us ran 141 bhp and 270ft lb torque The clutch has been changed now to a helix paddle and holds the boost well
 No more slipping Sam lol.

The car only ran 141 because it has a shit exhaust that leaks
Boost leak from the turbo pipe
And a open filter which ain't doing no favours ha ha

All the above will be getting sorted this was just to see what it would run
Nothing has been done to the car except the clutch change
As its been a daily driver

I love that one as a poor dyno reading excuse..
"Has a blowing exhaust"...

How does a blowing exhaust detract from the peak power figure? Yeah sure the torque below about 4,500rpm will be reduced, but past there, it'll make near enough no difference... I was annoyed when the dyno place I went to told me I couldn't run with no exhaust

Ruan the hdi really doesn't have power past 4.5k so that's no issue then?
Nice torque figure, shame on the BHP.

Although the place you all went for the dyno day seems quite shit so the figure probably don't mean alot. Does it still pull well?

Yeah the car drives absolutely spot on just needs a nice exhaust putting on as when I got it Sam had just put a temporary exhaust which it still retains

The boost leak and Induction will be sorted

This was just a base figure to see what it would run .

If I roll it again it will be going on a dyna pack hub dyno lee
One of my good mates who runs a garage has just bought a dyna pack
So il be running it to see what difference it makes and the bonus is it will be a free run

Turbocharged Diesels really don't suffer from any of the issues that petrols do with exhausts.

Backpressure is purely there at lower RPMs to keep the mixture in the cylinders where the air inertia isn't high enough to take advantage of the valve overlap and thus is just throwing a large quantity out the exhaust valve. Diesels don't really have this issue, since they're normally turbocharged so the cam profile is such that they don't have much valve overlap and they have a turbocharger on the exhaust side which produces quite a bit of backpressure normally...

Most people have this whole thing that "no backpressure = no power" which isn't true, it'll feel like it has less low down torque, however.

Since my HDi exhaust fell off (just post cat) its much slower bottom end....but surprisingly good top end (if you can be bothered to wait that long lol), didn't realise quite how restrictive the backbox must be!
It's bloody loud though, much louder than running the golf with no exhaust, not really sure why as I thought the turbo would muffle the noise.
