The brakes, what are they from? A 307?

I'm interested in upgrading my brakes soon but I'm on a tight budget, so I suspect 283s will be the way to go. Do the 302s fit behind Cyclones?
Cheers dude its going quickly conpaeed to my 5 door, yeah I think there off a 307 xsi or the 110 hdi's

Not sure tbh they might with spacers but dont hold me to that as I went straight to 16' so really wouldnt no, best person to talk to is chris who I get them off and there a hell of alot better than the 283's feels like your face is coming off haha

Had a good day today rang up a garage that specialise in diesel tuning and hes done what I want to a 306 dt before, so he said theres no point in 11mm pumps as there boggy and they waste abit to much fuel so recommend a 10mm pump with so extra "special" aftermarket bits which he will build he said I could have a dt reviving to around 6.5k without the fuel cutting out as thats a big problem with the bosch pump. Like everything theres always a but, I have to look into a uprated cam as it kept on snapping on hard acceleration :/ and bigger injectors. Soo I could run a gt35 hybrid and run it to the pumps limit but have to have forged rods and pistons soo hopefully next month im going to pop down there and speak to him to see what he does to them and how much itll cost sooo fingers crossed ill hopefully start building a new engine in the summer

Would you really need cams and injectors? As far as I'm aware only Darren has gone for a different cam. Stock injectors have never been an issue either. You might want to look into strengthening the head some how as when Darren had his at peak it dropped a pre-cup due to the heat ect.

As Max says, I'd put the money you'd spend on a cam and injectors elsewhere. Cam isn't very high up the list of restrictions and there's no point in putting bigger/better injectors in if the pump can't supply the fuel in the first place...

The head would also be my main concern tbh, opening and ceramic coating the obvious bits.

Still looking up on it as I speak chaps been looking into stronger valves, valve springs, colets, polish and porting, lifter etc he recomended them to for the power I really want, as said only going buy what he said. Do apr do head bolts for dt's as I cant find any? Colin from pug performance said give the 1.6 205 gti head bolts ago......

I wouldnt bother with touching the cam unless you have serious plans, I found it made no difference at all to airflow until u were trying to move alot of air over 4500rpm
As for injectors, I just bought nozzles that were modified by a company over seas (EDM'ed) for more flow, and i just fitted them / pop tested them to fit my exsisting bodies...Obviously on the M-TDI this is critical, I also had a set of chronic nozzles for my XUD, but sadly only ran them for a few miles due to the engine failing in other ways That said, i still think its a good plan....the problem with stock nozzles on a VE putting tonnes of fuel in, is it starts to build chronic HP line pressure, which massively increases the strain on the plunger, and therefore the timing gear, IE totally ruining the dynamic timing, whereas with big naughty nozzles, not only can you get more fuel in faster, but the pump remains at very much oem injection pressures, which makes for much better running power...

Ahhh nice one darren cheers for the info so really no point in a bigger cam then just concentrate of head internals and injectors?

Been trying to find something like that for the HDi, preferably something a bit "new tech" if you know what i mean, td04s are a bit agricultural for our purposes.
