It's pissing with rain, got nowhere to work on the car.
Can't find the fault with the rear popper, as I don't have any electrical tools.
Can't be bothered to untune it, in this weather.
Not sure if my non airbag steering wheel is still legal.
Or if my rear doors will pass lol.

Next in my hunt to find a fault in the pop I have found that I have water soaked into the material under the rear seats. Can't see any holes so maybe I have a huge hole in the arches or one of them.

Might be time for a new shell or just a new car.

But in the mean time no car as of 12 midnight.

Only a £30 fine for no mot. And normally get a few days grace.
Just cos its run out don't mean it's unroadworthy.

I am sure it's roadworthy, as long as there are no holes in the arches I can't see.
But I don't want to drive it with no MOT. It's not right, or fair on other road users.

Also it can invalid your insurance.

Technically, you ARE still insured 3rd party and your insurers will still pay out to someone you crash into. But they will make you pay the money back to them.
Read up ALOT on this when my mot ran out haha...

But on topic.. Just do what I did mark,, stuck her in for an mot at the next appointment I could book didn't de-tune / clean / "fix" any problems....
Then just fix what's on the sheet.

And all it failed on was rear brakes .. 100% less work than I was expecting.

On the 306 waiting list.

When i had water under my rear seats it was getting into one of the taillights, then running along the boot floor, then in under the back seats.. Just an idea for you

So rain stopped about 12.30. So drove home to have a look at the leak. Ripped the rear seats out and the sound deadening under them as that was soaking wet. Took up the boot carpet I have and noticed most of it was on the passenger side. So pulled the carpet off the rear arch and that stupid little plastic plate had come lose and the carpet or whatever it is in the passage behind it has gone. So cleaned and dried everything, stuff some material into the passage to stop the water flowing, glued the plate in place and re carpeted the arch.

De tuned the car a bit and then off to my local MOT centre. But they have stopped working for the day which is fair I guess. So asked some questions.

 1) need access to the rear doors from the outside. Unless there are no rear seat. Good thing I did not put them back in. So they can stay out for now.
 2) steering wheel law has not come into force yet, so as long as the airbag light is not on it does not matter.
 3) boot does not need to open so the solution to that can wait til after the MOT.

So wait til after Xmas now to drive my car, last time will be tonight. Then it's borrow my parents car for Monday and Xmas day as they are in the carribean.

MOT tester said if the airbag light is on then you do. This was a guy from their head office branch.

Funny thing is mine has never been on airbag or no airbag.

That might be way I never saw an airbag light in my car.
Don't think the steering wheel stayed on the car that long.

		Yea it passed.
Failed on front side lights, though. Even though I am sure they were working before.

I also have 1st gear back in my selection of gears.

Popper works now, but was a bodge. So going to re wire gauges and poppers again.
