When i start my car up cold, it refuses to start. Revs go to 600rpm and just stay there ticking over. After a few seconds the immobiliser sound goes off.
Then i try again, 600rpm stuck, untill i tap the accelerator it kicks up,
Coughs out smoke for a good 10 minutes and gets really juddery inside.
Only started happening.
Usually starts first attempt instantly!

Sounds like the timing could have slipped a tooth or you have bad fuel/dirty fuel filter/bad glow plugs. Does it still have all it's power when it's stopped juddering/coughing?

Starts instantly when warm, has all its power.
dad had a look over, he said its probably plugs or fuel filter..
both of which i will change after my bosch pump.
although I changed my fuel filter 4k miles ago, and ive only ran on derv.

		What he said^^^
Majority of us on here probably run wank when cold first thing... Its an old diesel thing! Unless you have spanking new plugs and perfectly setup pump :p

Mine starts first time on pure veg, which is weird as i don't have a clue what i'm doing with these engines half the time.
It does have a new 640CCA battery and nearly new glow plugs from Ash23's old head though, but yeah still starts first time on pure veg even when the windows are frosted up.
