I'll be looking for a y reg then bit more to insure for some reason but I'll save on tax.

Buy an XUD DTurbo then, cheaper all round more fun and easier to get lots of power out of, im not bias or any thing

Depends what you want from it. The bigger the power you go for, the higher chance of engine failure, depending on whether you have any form of mechanical sympathy. Xud is all mechanical as well, so less electronics to go wrong than the hdi. But I'm biased

I was just thinking stage one on hdi not sure what route I would go down with xud.

My hdi is Yreg and its cheaper on tax than an older one BUT the xud is mechanic as hdi has more electrics.
There is more and cheaper tuneability out of the xud.

Even though i own an hdi and i should be biased but
i would go for an xud due to tuning.

Tax is such a small part of motoring costs... I wouldn't limit what you're looking at due to that. Before Y reg they'll all be the same, £220 a year I believe? Should know I just paid mine
Welcome by the way
