When legal, and safe, how fast have you gone in your Dturbo?

This isn't a chav thread, genuinely curious. When I first got my Dturbo it would do 115 on 14" wheels, now it won't go over 105 on 15"s! I have a serious boost leak, running 7psi, so I'm guessing that's why?

I have access to a closed airfield.

		135.

More fuel and higher boost needed.

Mine never used to go over 90 standard.

In a standard one 120 was the fastest (and got pulled over for doing that) the tuned one I never pushed top end cos Ive largely grown out of that.

Top speed really isnt much of a measure of performance though on these its all about 30-70 or 0-100.

Surely the gearing would top it out before 135? Either that or the speedo wasnt overly accurate?!

The gearing will put them out of their optimum powerband, but with the correct modifications you can still make enough power up high in the rpms to continue to a higher top speed Phils (ie. my old dt) was fairly capable of pulling well past 5k, and iirc 5k in 5th on a Dt is 135.... Not that I ever tried for top speed in the Dt....

Please dont close this thread mr officer Ive had about 125 but bottled it lol and like others have said its not all about top speed its how fast it gets there. but would be awesome to be able to sail past 120 to keep up with these modern cars lol

71 mph its not about top speed but how quickly you can get there!
tbf I never went that fast top end in my dturbo probably around 110 never pushed it that hard, its more fun going round corners fast

mine only does 105mph at 23psi but i have got 205/60/13 capri wheels on but it gets their very quick...it did do 117mph on the standard 14" wheels.thinking of dropping a hdi gear box on with a stage 1 fast road clutch, should be a better top end around 125 mph.

I'm fully aware it's not really a good indication of performance.

The reason I ask is because whilst I was on this closed airfield my mate was losing me pretty quickly, and his is on a 100% standard Lucas pumped Dturbo and he claims he just touched 120.

I believe that Ruan! Mine was at 100deg so I gave up!

My old DT STD on swollows T2@ 13psi lucus pulled 127 on GPS

My current one although iv never got to top speed feels like it wouldnt top much over 100. With 15s T2@ 20psi on lucus
