Rear wash/wipe will always work but wipe only is a bit intermittent. Is there one relay for each circuit or something?

Nope...single relay on the motor.....probably full of water and corrosion though.

Easy to have a look at though, the rear boot trim is held on by 6 different T25 torx screws. I guess it could be a poor connection on the stalk?
