Just a quick check,

Came to car struggled to start with battery light on then died in petrol station, got jump started and just not holdong any charge at all

Im putting it down to the alternator,

How many earths come off everyones battery negatove terninal and where do they go please as this wiring was a bodge when i bought the car

Sounds like alternator to me buddy, I had the exact same problem about 2 weeks ago.
get the multimeter out!

Ive got 2 off my battery. One to the gearbox and one to the chassis/body.
