passenger airbag removal

Want to remove the air bag system, i know how to remove all the bits except the passenger air bag,

Also when its out id like to replace the airbag 'lid' with the top glovebox lid if its possible,
Any advice would be much appreciated

Its a 1998 phase 2 1.9dt

Theres a level you have to pull out behind the HU that will release the airbag, then lift it out, theres 2 triangle bolts holding a plate over the plug, Undo and unplug then just fit the top glovebox it just screws in.

Remove bulb and done. Might be worth also turning it off first with the key slot but i never did and i drove around for months without one

Cheers mate, a lever you ment? Never seen it and had the head unit out loads of times, not that I don't believe you.... I take it that it's on the left?
Daft question, what does it look like? is it a different colour?

Its just a flat bit you might need to turn it to be able to pull it
