Exhaust blowing?????

Hi, my phase 1 xsi is completely standard for now ;-) but it sounds like the exhaust is blowing, especially from around the cat. I've had it up on the Ramps and can't feel/see any gases/sooty deposits. Does any one have any ideas? Thanks

Have you had a good old feel around exhaust joints etc whilst someone applies a little revs to feel it blow more if the hole is very small? Also check the tightening of nuts and bolts etc do this when its warmed up.

The joins are really crap flange type with a gripping clamp. The whole lot is prone to rust and falling apart. If its leaking gas it's a pretty high chance a join is to blame. On an old gti6 of mine I cut the flanges out and welded straight pipe to one side, and made a sleeve fit for the other. Took a couple of hours and was a great exhaust there after.
