May sound a stupid question but would this be any use if i dont have sky? Like to record tv etc? Able to be used to just watch freeview?

You won't be able to use the record functionality without a Sky subscription but you can use it as a Freesat box.

Yeah, as far as I know as long as you have a dish up on the wall it is useful to you, you can watch free to air freesat stuff, don't know about using it as a recorder with no sky card in it though? I think you can buy a cheap skycard for PVR (tv recording) use only though?
