99 d turbo dash light issue

When the car is being driven it is fine, Park up and take the key on and the battery light stays on and kills the battery After a while. Jump start the car and volt gauge is at 12v when driven at 14v. I've checked for bare wires in the charging system but nothing there...... Any ideas guys


Fault is on a phase 2 d turbo t reg 99

Pretty sure its an earth/connection fault on thr multiplugs on the passenger side of the rad, undo them (with battery off) soaked in w.d/contact cleaner and try and clean them up abit.

Is that the loom plugs?

I disconnected the large wire to the alternator when I got home tonight and the batter light went out then reconnected it again the light came back on does that mean the fault is in the alternator
