can anyone shed some light on what this is please:

   

I was driving home casually the other day when I heard something drop, start clanging around underneath my car for a second or 2 and then clatter down the road. When I picked it up I was abit :S theres no thread inside and the only thing I can think off is it sit around a cable of some sort.

Has your air con been removed? Looks like the bolt insert for the AC pump brackets I think....

Yes the air con has been removed! That is a weight lifted from my shoulders as I am going down to Cornwall Monday.
