What is the best and safest way to clean the engine bay on my NAD XUD estate please

Cover up alternator and battery, try to shield electrical things in general, spray engine degreaser everywhere then pressure wash it off

I thought the done thing with anything xud was to cover it in rusty water untill you have an even coverage of orange??




But yeah rap any thing electrical in plastic. Then use "gunk" (degreaser or oven cleaner) brush it in then wash it down. Remove plastic when its all dried a bit

I got one of those really cheap paraffin spray guns....
been kicking it around the garage for years, but its great to spray on degreaser and then fill it with hot water...... bingo, instant steam cleaner..

I sprayed all electrical connections with WD40, covered the engine bay in strong degreaser, pressure washed off..

Then added a bit of tyre shine over the black bits, and ended up like this.
