Nankang NS2

Just got some Nimrods and I've been told 205/45/16 is the best size to go for, I was looking at Uniroyal Rainsports (because when is it ever dry?), best price I found was £312 for 4, but I've just seen a set of 4 brand new Nankangs for £175. I know they won't be as good, but are they anywhere near? I've heard rumours that Nankang have massively improved their tyres...

Id go for 195's on nimrods personally, 205 is a slight oversize and means youll get floppy sidewalls round corners, not fun. As for nankangs, I would definitely avoid them. I had them on my Bora and the understeer was hilarious, literally terrible. I had some mid range firestones I think on the mazda and they were quite respectable. Tyres really are a case of you gey what you pay for.

Definatly recommend 195's like Dan said. My Nimrods came with 205's on them and when I changed them to 195's the difference was very noticeable.

Hmm, think I'll go for 195s then, slightly cheaper anyway. Had a quick look on eBay, Kumho KU31s are about £240 for a set of 4, are they good then Sean?

Yeah. I've had them on the pug and my nova. Dads had them on his 225 cupra r. Last well too from experience. Best budgets imo

Nagkangs are epicly shite. Last set i had were like plastic and gripped like plastic . Id rather have a perelli ditch finder over them. Plus in a 195 i can get toyo T1R's cheaper.

As said, it's a case of you get what you pay for. I got 4 RS2's from Camskill for the Mazda for £160, benefit of 15's

16's will defo be more but im sure it will still be dirt

I run them on the wellers only for FCS last year but were pretty sound. I run T1R's and also use these on my mums car and tbh for normal driving I can't say I notice any great improvment. T1R's are pretty shit in the wet anyway

Another one are the Falken 914's, New tyre but the 912's where good for the price in both wet and dry, But no means to be used on track thou

No, that's Pirelli P6000's

The NS2's aren't that bad for a budget tire tbh. I didn't have much trouble running them for a year wish before they outlasted the car
