how do these work with a standard ECU? I always presumed you had to get them fitted and have a remap before you could use them? And then wouldnt you need some kind of custom throttle cable? D:

SRowell you would graft a dizzy on the end of a cam to give you spark timing and a throttle cable to open the 4 butterfly's in the inlets like TB's but all fuelling is metered on vacuum draw through jetted orifice's not via electric injectors Wink

Thing is, they'd probably barely make the same power as standard on a GTi6... It's only the noise that's any different...

And consume 50x more fuel...

I love carbs and all, but in honesty, they have no place on a modern day car that's driven in the UK... An EFI GTi6 is bad enough as it is! IMO just stick to a plenum and single throttle body... Look at the BTCC cars, they were never on ITBs, just big arse plenums and single throttles... Everyone assumes that the ONLY way to make power is throttle bodies, but plenums can be made to make VERY impressive amounts of power...

^^^agree

45s have had their day....back with minis n mk1 escorts

a good tb setup rocks...but you have to head towards 9k rpm to benefit....thats a lot of fuel and not very usable on the road as -2500rpm its crap

plenums with balanced trumpets and single tbs rule now...do cosworth not do a plenum for the gti???
Wishes for more power...
