After 2 years of bugging my mrs has finally renewed her passport from when she was a kid.
We're going to book somewhere this week.
I've only been costa del sol and benidorm.
Don't really know what's out there so I was wondering where you lot have been and what would you recommend.
I want somewhere nice and busy ish not a shitty abandoned village.
Has to have plenty of sun nice beach and be for younge people not grannyfied.
I keep thinking the obvious magaluf Zante ibeza iyanapa.
So as you can tell has to have a good party atmosphere so I can go out a couple nights.
Thanks in advanced.

Missus & I went to Zante few years ago. We didn't do the obvious Laganas etc; we did a hotel further north up the coast. It was really nice; fairly busy with some good bars shops and some great restaurants, and we were closer to the nice beaches on the northern end of the island too which was pretty cool...
Personally I cba with the "lets go out all night every night and get wasted etc" thing; we went to chill and relax and just do our own thing a bit, so it suited us perfectly. I'd recommend it
Apart from that, no idea really! South of France is pretty nice; we're looking at doing that this year. We did a long weekend in Paris which was great!
It's a more expensive option, but have you thought about the States? There's so much to do there! I went out to build the fort lauderdale boat show a few years back, and between the build & breakdown my dad rented a Harley and we went all the way to Key West over a few days; that was an awesome experience!

The part of Zante you went to sounds great. For us. Only wanna go out once maybe twice. But still have the daytime life. we just wanna chill by the pool. Go to a water park and things . We're going over to Paris for a day or 2 in July anyway as I have family in guernsey so will be taking boat.

Coast line in Turkey is nice. South or even the west coast of France.
When to Zante when i was 18, but not sure where. Around the corner from Magalufa is nice also.
Further a field Phucket is lovely as is Boracary in the philippines.
South coast of Italy looks lovely too, my new work mate has been showing me her pics and it looks lovely.

So the part of zante we went to is supposedly the 'family side' but the hotel was really nice, did breakfast etc, and had really nice facilities. Just a little loud with the kids from the families etc, but not that bad. The bar was awesome there too; we got trashed there one night; the barman was a total legend. Dunno if you remember a few years ago there was that thing about Greece getting fed up with brits getting drunk over there and causing problems? Our barman was on bbc1 news being interviewed saying that it was a joke and people always drank responsibly etc; only 3weeks previously he'd let us behind the hotel bar to mix our own drinks for prettymuch the entire night. Hell my gf made a cocktail that they put on the menu it was so good
But yeah, I recommend it if you're after a more relaxing one than a partyparty one...

Mrs getting some books when she's finished work and well look tonight. But I'm leaning more towards zante i think
It's our first time abroad together so it has to be one to remember then we can go where ever after
When you went to Zante ed did you go all inclusive or self catering?

We went to the planos bay hotel: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Revie...lands.html
The hotel itself was pretty good, we did half-board, so breakfast and did our own thing for lunch and dindins. We actually ate at an awesome Italian for about 5nights running. It was bloody Amazing food, and really well priced. Couldn't fault it at all!
We wanted to go see stuff rather than hanging about the hotel, so didn't actually spend any real time there during the day (dont think we even made it into the pool lol!), but yeah, we did the boat trip tours round the island which I highly recommend; they stop at that amazing beach with the old wreck on it;
It's a nice day out that
We also did a fair bit of walking about; we went into Zante town and walked from the sea-front up to the church at the top of the hill above the town, it's beautiful up there, and IIRC there's a nice restaurant too for some food!
We made the mistake of not exploring right around the hotel much though; if you walk up the hill a bit into town there are some great bars which we only discovered on the last night there, which was a right pain! There's also crazy golf too, and a few other things. We had a well early departure the next morning so unfortunately didn't keep exploring, but there's defs stuff to do near hotel if you don't feel like venturing way out for a day!

I also went to Turkey a couple of years back and the resort / weather / beaches were amazing.
Unfortunately the locals were a bit unsavory. They pester you outside shops and can be quite insulting if you're with a fit woman, I fondly recall some scruffy bloke asking for 'real sex' with my girlfriend. Lovely. C*nt.

An area i've worked in for total of about a year and half, is Shamr El Sheikh in Egypt, it's an absoloutely amazing place, cheap to eat, drink, stay and is only a 40 minute flight from Cairo if you want to go there also.
flights and tours to cairo can be picked up out there for about £300pp..
Or stay in Sharm and enjoy the coral reefs, boat cruises, decent evening life and amazing sun, sand and sea
If you do go out there and need any contacts, holla! i can get you some nice discounts!
Also been to tenerife and costa del sol, tenrife is pretty fun - grab a hire car and drive around the island - WINNING!

tsilivi is the place on zante you should visit; not ruined by dickheads, very clean beaches and the boat trips to the shipwreck sail from there. loads of different restaurants so you can eat almost anything and something different everyday.
playa blanca on lanzarote is nice but can be silly hot at high season !!! again crystal clear water, clean beaches and good food ( my main interest)
olu deniz/hisonaru in turkey---not overun by teenagers nor a family haven ?? one of the best beaches in europe, used as a landing strip for nutters who jump off a mountain strapped to a parachute !!!

Best hotel review ever! Had me in tears. I'd hate to of been this guys neibour.
Just returned from the Louis Zante beach in Lagana and must say how enjoyable it was. Rooms Our room was tidy and spacious. It was cleaned on a daily basis (unlike our neighbours which was hardly cleaned as I would put the "Do not disturb" sign on every morning after they left for the pool or beach. That's what you get when you complain about my 8 month old child chattering to herself at 5:00 in the morning) There is also a satellite Tv in the room which had the functionality to play pirated movies from a memory stick. A great facility rarely mentioned in the reviews. The Tv can also be turned up very loud. As our neighbours discover at 5:00 in the morning after there complaint was passed on to us by the Thompson Rep. Food. Always a bone of contention with all inclusive hotels the food here was great. The buffet style restaurant served up a breakfast to beat most 5 star English hotels I have woken up in. With local sausages and bacon, freshly baked bread and all the local yogurts you could think of. Omelettes cooked to order was a particular highlight for me. Lunch could be taken in the restaurant or the beach side cafe where freshly made Pizza could be eaten. The was also a rotating barbecue where pork and chicken was prepared on a daily basis. The salads were all fresh and the choice was varied. The restaurant staff were polite and attentive. They never objected to you taking food to the room as our baby would sometimes be sleepy before the restaurant opened on an evening. If i found a particularly pungent dish i would place it on our neighbours balcony so on a morning they would be greeted to an army of ants happily beavouring away as they opened their patio doors. The birds in the restaurant would come and take bread from the floor. I see some people have complained about this and would recommend that you bring a "Back Widow" catapult armed with 5mm ball-bearings. You could even persuade the animation team to add this as one of their day time activities. I would also place bread on our neighbours balcony so that when they returned from there daily excursion they would be treated to a scene similar to one from Alfred Hitcocks "The Birds" Entertainment. What great bunch. Always something happening and not too overpowering. A difficult balance to attain. Location. Couldn't be better. Bang smack on the beach and within walking distance of the main strip. There are sun beds on the beach which you can hire for 8 euros. I would recommend the Greek dude who is directly in line with the pool bar. He might have smelled a bit and scared the crap out of our daughter every time he smiled at her with his gap toothed gypsy looks, but he kept a tidy outfit meticulously raking his section of beach every morning. My only bone of contention was with the Turtles. I don't care for them much really. Apparently they are a conserved species living in a conservation area. Sea rats more like it. Every holiday I've ever been on has A "Turtle beach" or a "Turtle Island". I never trust anyone or anything that carries its house around with him. Don't get me started on snails. A word of caution though. Always take your towels with you to lunch. My neighbours didn't. I would the take them into the sea with me (just ankle deep with my back to the beach) and wipe my sweaty armpits and bum crack with them. I would then carefully replace them with the sweaty residue in the nose area. Sometimes I would wait for hours just to see the puzzled looks when they returned and assumed their sunbathing positions. Reception. Very helpful, very attentive and very understanding. Especially when you've got some miserable git complaining that the baby in the room next to wakes up too early. They even do early morning phone calls and yes, you guessed it, as my neighbours discovered several times when they were mysteriously ordered a 5:00am wake up call. This was generally arranged when we felt that the baby would sleep well that night. That night porter was a very pleasant chap who would always give my daughter a big friendly "Kalimera" just as she was dropping off to sleep. Swimming Pool. The pool is fantastic. Never too many towels on the beds and if you did reserve you beds with towels they would be there when you returned.... Apart from my neighbours. The odd time he did try and reserve sun beds I would follow down to the pool and move them somewhere else. Then not only would they not have the sunbeds they had reserved, but they would also have to wait until the last people had left the pool to see which towels were left. Otherwise they would lose their 20â?¬uro Deposit. In terms of safety I have never before witnessed such a safety conscious hotel. They have a life guard called Ismini. She is the most safety conscious life guard I've ever come across. At our local baths the lifeguards are either eying up totty or texting/facebooking on their iPhones. Ismini is a meerkat. Both in looks and attitude. She pops up her head, looks left, looks right, then stares directly ahead for hours at a time. She doesn't even take dinner breaks in case she "nearly catches missing accident because the children don't listen to safety because I don't please and thank you parents" Overall. A great hotel with a well deserved reputation. The guest services manager was fantastic, the reps were great, all the staff were polite and friendly. The best all inclusive hotel I've ever stayed at. Take heed though. This is a family hotel were people take babies and small children. If you don't like this please don't go. Find hotels which don't allow children or babies. As a last minute twist of fate we were seated directly behind the baby haters on the flight home. Every time the child looked like she was about to sleep I actively discouraged her And then held her close to the gap in the head rests so her screams would haunt them forever. If your going to complain about a babies screams make sure its justified. Think about it, is it worth it, what can they do about it and ultimately...She could be my baby ;-)
Thanks for the recommendations. Going to get some prices tomorrow. Found one or two I like. In laganas

I was just thinking that Ed's hotel sounded lovely for me and Scott to visit, but I don't like kids, so think an adult-only hotel might be the best option......

I've been to Cornwall many times and would highly recommend it.
What with kiddy on the way we've put any holidays on hold, not least because it'll be a stretch with money (better spent on kid stuff) but that I'm holding on to my holiday entitlement for when the little'un arrives. Or maybe it's just so I can spend 2 weeks playing on the Playstation.

we used to go to looe in cornwall, right up until the site charged us £700 per week for an 8 berth caravan.
i dont mind paying for somewhere thats really nice for us and the kids, but this was a pure "drop trousers--bend over and touch your toes moment !!!"
since then its worked out cheaper to go abroad for guaranteed weather, i also love going to cornwall but its too pricey !!!!

I've always fancied going to Cornwall, wanna time it to coincide with vanfest/RTTS or something. Only been to Benidorm,Amsterdam and Lanzerote on foriegn hols. The Dam is awesome but not really a "proper" holiday, Benidorm is just Blackpool with better weather but it was a lads holiday so that suited us fine (La Cala is just up the coast and has a beautiful bay though) Playa de Carmel in Lanzerote was lovely, nice mix of chilled and lively stuff..the beaches aint the best though.
Off to southern Tenerife in september, looking forward to it.
