Tailgate all the same?

I have a ph1 and the tailgate is going rusty under the seal and is heavily scratched, as its the only bad on the bit on the old gal I am looking at getting a new one as i reckon it will be easier then repairing it, so will a ph2/3 fit or do i need a ph1 one? Cheers Dan.

They're all the same fitmentjust the wiring that's differemt

As rocker said. A ph2/3 will fit a ph1 but you could have wiring problems.

I fitted a ph3 tailgate on my ph1 d turbo and the wiring was fine but me and jimbo put a ph3 on his ph1 and the wiring was different. I think it maybe have been down to the fact mine is a P reg and just on the ph1 to ph2 change over

Yeh should be easy enough to make the wiring fit if it doesnt fit!

Yeah any boot will fit fine (as long as its not an estate / sedan / cab) the wiring might be different but theres only 8 wires and 4 of them are for the wiper motor that most people remove then you just have 2 for the heated rear window and 2 for the lock

Also remember the different boot lock shapes, seal on the window, and random black line at the bottom that is all different through the phases

So phase1 5 door tailgate will be the same as a phase1 3 door tailgate???
Will my top tailgate spoiler fit straight on the 5 door tailgate or is it a problem job fitting it?
