Rarely use it now but it's how I get my pictures online and music on the iPod.
I have a 120gb hardrive which is 3/4 full of programmes pictures music and NVQ work.
But recently it's running so f*cking slow, to the point I could walk to the liabrary use one of there computers and still walk back before mine woul e done.
Constantly says not responding when doing anything
Has taken me 35minutes so far to look at a picture on my sd card
I it likly to be slow because of the amount of files or do I have sone badass virus? Its really starting to piss me off
Help please

Given the size of the HDD I'm imagining it's getting fairly old now?
Depending on how much it has been used and in what conditions, it could the the hard drive slowing down. This could also include bad sectors etc. which will cause the symptoms you're describing.
It probably has S.M.A.R.T which can be accessed by a few programs, I would advise you use speedfan http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php and see what scores its getting.
Peace, yo.

last resort is reinstal windows thats just wrong try to learn before taking that step
my vote would be to run spybot SD on it to clear any hiden nastys then have a good look at the crap you have installed and is running in the background
and disable anythink thats not wanted leave the basics running

Make sure you anti virus is bang up to date. And like you just said if you have more than 1 delete them. Anti virus work like car insurance. If you have 2 then 1 will tell the other to deal with it and visa versa. Then nothing gets done and lots of things get let in.
Give it a dam good clean up from the crappy files you have. Remove games and programmes that are not used.
In you task bar close things that you never use (go into their setting and tell them to not run on sart up).
If all else fails reboot your windows.
If you have vista then it's shitty and slow anyway as it takes up more memory and hard drive space than what's needed.
Also what could be a option is upgrade your memory as more programmes and using more it could be very helpful to upgrade.

Meh, if its THAT bad id just backup what you want and format the sucker...yeh maybe its more pro to fix all the issues....but in my experience with shitty ms products like windows, you will never get it 100% perfect again, and the time it takes to fix it all, you could have re installed / installed all your drivers / recovered data again...
But sweet it with malwarebytes and ccleaner and clear out the startup list on msconfig and itl probs be a fair bit better.

Also See if you can find a FREE copy of freemem, it runs in the background and you can use it to get your laptop to dump memory held by the operating system/program's and makes it quicker and Ccleaner + a sprinkle from the link in Toby's first...should all help it
the smokey old bus that sounds like a tractor...
