(This post was last modified: 10-03-2015, 08:11 AM by bashbarnard.)
So almost a year ago I stitched up by a gentleman named Phillip bell on here who took my money via bank transfer for a fuel pump he didn't have, thinking he was in Ireland and out of the way he would get away with it. I found all of the info I could on the guy contacted Irish police where he lives. (yes I found out the guys address online so be careful what you leave out there) they have been trying to get money out of him with no avail. The last conversation i had with the police they were arresting him. Suddenly the money appears back in my account. Well almost all of it I'm out of pocket £4 which I can cope with. So to anyone out there that has recently been ripped off there is hope as yet.
Ps always pay pal and cover fees. I do now.

The Irish police were really helpful and communication was great. They dealt with my local constabulary who came and took a statement one evening. Got in contact with him to give him a gentle nudge to return the money. He said he had, didn't appear in my account police rang a few times like this. Then last week said do you want us to arrest him, which may mean going to Ireland to appear in court. (expenses paid) So I said yes. He didn't like being arrested and I got my money back. First time police have been helpful to me.

Decent result mate. I woulda gone vigilante on his ass tho. I did this a few years ago, a guy on eBay screwed me over so I went to his house, that shit him up, apologised and gave me cash.

I remember this bash, nice to hear you got your cash back, just a shame when people like that spoil it for others sadly.

Would've cost me more to travel to his than he owed. Still I don't enjoy people taking my money. Its does happen though. Lesson learnt PayPal only with fees covers. Always get money back if something goes tits up then

Bloody love the Garda, so much better than our lot. Got caught speeding in the early hours once in Roscommon, he let me off because it was quiet!
