		That hole is for the vacuum pipe between the servo and the inlet mani.

		picture one looks to me like a heat shield, and its rightfull place may become more apparent when you've got the lump.

		The heat shield bolts onto the rear cam cover and the exhaust manifold. Hold up and ill find you a photo.
That outlet on the MC has a flexi hose on it going to a solid pipe along the bulk head then another flexi onto the vac pump on the head
