Hi all, I recently bought a 98 D-Turbo and after I got it home, I noticed the coolant light coming on. The car seems to drive 100% but there is pressure in the header tank and when I start the car with the header tank cap off, there are decent sized air bubbles going into it. I've topped the coolant level up manys a time but as soon as i do it and go drive the car, It seems to just disappear and that warning light comes back on. So basically, I'm assuming the worst and its going to need a head gasket but is there anything else It could be before I take the head off to replace the gasket?
Many thanks!

When you top it up and it disappears, does it come out of the overflow? Are the footwells damp? Does the heater work? And steam from the exhaust?

Only just checking back to this now. Today i removed the thermostat and bled the cooling system. Car isn't pressurising anymore and runs like a dream. Thank god!
