Hi everyone. I was just driving home, picked a friend up and there was a weird squeaky noise coming from around the fanbelt/cambelt area, checked my water, was almost Empty! (Was completly full yesturday)
Oil was absolutely fine.
Topped it up water. Drive about 1/2 miles and then it just made a "pop" feeling and then no power in the engine. Ignition still comes on fine. But no power at all.
If I look down beside the fanbelt/cambelt and lift the radiator cap off. Water starts coming out from somehwere near the bottom of the engine.
I'm hoping its either a core plug or water pump. Or something easier.
Any help or precious experiences would be very grateful.

Well the waterpump is on that side of the engine so could be from there.
Wouldn't reduce power at all though, itd just get hot quickly lol, unless the pump pulley has broken and knocked the timing out I guess.

Well, firstly take the cambelt covers off and check if it's that.....
If its just that the pump has failed, you should get away with a new waterpump/cambelt and timing it up properly. Not too expensive tbh.

If the car has bees run dry there is a chance the water pump could have seized.
Where exactly does the water come from?

The weird thing is that is was completely fine yesterday because I checked everything as I was going to service it this week.
I can't see exactly but it seems to be where the pump is.

Does anyone have the time/expertise and tools to do a waterpump change and cambelt for me?
I'm in tr152bt, Redruth, Cornwall.
Will pay fuel costs if not travelling from somewhere silly like London lol
And will pay handsomely in bacon sandwichs tea and assorted biscuits
Getting desperate now as I've only got this one car and can't get to work atm!
