A good socket set with a good range of spanners and sockets, and what ever tool needed for head bolts maybe a big toques bit or it might just be a nut head but not sure on the 1.4.
Dont think you need any special tools. Oh a toque wrench to toque the head bolts up

A breaker bar for your sockets or failing that some steel tube that fits over your t bar or ratchet (last resort as you don't wanna put silly pressure on ratchets)

T55 socket for the head bolts (may need a long one like
http://www.lasertools.co.uk/item.aspx?item=644)
Torque wrench and angle gauge and a good socket set.
