Gti making odd noises
#1
Right getting some very disconcerting noises coming from the engine and before anyone starts it isn't tapping lol

When you put it in first and start to move there's a rattle coming from the bay buy o can't figure out where from, once your on the go its quiet until the your stopping at which point when the clutch goes past the biting point it rattles in the same way

Also a bit of noise from the cambelt which i think might be the tensioners any chance of getting away with tightening or slacking them off fixing it? Belt was new in march has done roughly 8-9k
Also seems to be a fair bit of squeal which i think is auxiliary belt tensioners

That probably doesn't make much sense but on to the second issue

After being sat overnight first start up is lumpy as f*ck and sounds like its running on 3 cylinders until its revved at which point it clears up

Any help would be good Smile

The struggling to start , running on 3 and clearing is a tell tale sign of the headgasket failing. You get some water seepage into a bore (not much mind) and it will struggle to start.

Mine did this months before I got any other symptoms.
