hi guys i have the 1.9 dw8 engine in my car and was wanting to decat it been reading that diesels rely on back pressure would it be a good idea to decat it or what

if you are keen with a grinder and welder, chop your cat out and weld a pipe in. pop the cat down to the scrappy... £££££
However (and I know it has been discussed) some MOT stations will go by 'if it had a cat fitted from factory it should have one for MOT' others will look and as long as the exhaust isn't leaking or rusted through they'll pass the car. End of the day, up to you.
