Probably best to buy a good used turbo instead of rebuild. I don't think the seal is serviceable by home mechanic. You can buy new cartridges but I don't think it's worth going that route.

They aren't that simple to check. You could compare two at constant revs say at idle and 3k rpm via the volts out on pin 5 for the flow or the volts on pin 1 for the temperature volts out.

I had a similar issue when the speedo died, it was the speed sensor on the gearbox. I take it your speedo is working fine? Your issue might be the clutch switch. Check it on a diag tool or multimeter...

You can't turn some models off, I take it yours has the colour screen? I've heard you can mute them by pressing volume up and down together but it can't be turned off lol
