Thread: Wanted: Decent 4 pot / 6 pot brakes
Post: Wanted: Decent 4 pot / 6 pot brakes
Hi guys. I'm after some decent front brakes with 4 or 6 pot calipers.
NOT Brembos !
Ideally for 280-290mm vented disks to fit under 15" Cyclones / Steelies for track use.
I can get a 285mm x... |

Thread: V6 guestion
Post: RE: V6 guestion
@7psi you'll see 300bhp+ but you will need to use 98 octane fuel to prevent pinking.
You'll need deep pockets though:-
Garrett Gt3076 = £1000
Custom manifolds = £1000
Standalone ECU = £600

They are no fatter. Its the diameter thats the issue.
288mm will fit with Brembos in factory position.
300+mm will NOT fit with Brembos in factory position.

I bought a 306Gti6 which had a lowered suspension, stripped interior, a full rollcage and track day tyres.
This served me well, handled well and brought a grin to my face.

Post: RE: Brembos again
You'll need brackets to space the calipers out and at least 16" rims.
For me its not worth the hassle for an extra 11mm radius.
Go for Xantia V6 disks (288mm).

The V6 sits in the same linear location as the XU lump.
Mine sits lower to keep centre of gravity as low as possible too.

Its exciting reading.... Proper genuine 306 Maxi (Rally spec) was 960kg, 300bhp at 11,000rpm AND thats using a 2.0Gti6 lump with forged internals N/A!
Over 300bhp/ton -wow!
