Thanks for the replies, I will check the arch liner, as for the track rod ends, I have checked for play but no luck. I was thinking about replacing the whole strut next. Thanks

Might get a friendly garage to diagnose the problem and then fix it myself. Just a pain not having that car for a day or two.

Cheers for the reply's, I will fit the GTI6 shocks and then play with different springs. Are the rear shocks worth messing around with? I will be leaving it standard height..

I ended up choping the cat, emptying then welding it back, same with the rear silencer - the rear silencer was a b****!
